Bad Taste of the town
The Bad Taste of the Town is an artistic evening inspired by 18th Century society. Embrace an evening of big wigs, gossip, opera and gin drinking in celebration of Bristol Museum and Art Gallery’s summer exhibition William Hogarth: Painter & Printmaker.
Together with historian Steve Poole, I’ll be peeping behind the patches and powder at the lifestyles of the fabulously rich and ruinously poor in Hogarth’s world. Guests are also invited to explore the museum galleries as the underbelly of the 18th century is revealed by artists throughout the night.
Saturday 16 May 2015, 6-9pm. (The Hogarth exhibition will be open with free entry throughout the evening.)
at Bristol Museum and Art Gallery, Queens Road, Bristol BS8 1RL
